POSHE stands for Patriot Orff Schulwerk Honor Ensemble. Composer Carl Orff developed an approach to teach music that uses speaking, dancing and playing instruments. Schulwerk is German for "school work" . We will incorporate musical concepts learned through our work at school. Honor is the privilege of being selected to perform in POSHE. Ensemble is the group of 4th, 5th, & 6th graders making music and performing together.
This is an auditioned music ensemble that will primarily be using Orff instruments such as the xylophone, metallophone and glockenspiel. The ensemble will be rehearsing every Wednesday or Thursday afternoon in the music room. There will be a final program on Thursday, May 1.
